Clyde C. Allen is President and Founder of Allen and Partners, Inc, a marketing services firm that offers expertise in strategic business initiatives including event planning and management, fundraising, market research, public relations, and business consultation. Over the past twenty-five years, the agency has created and executed signature events for corporations, federal & state agencies, and non-profit organizations. Recent projects include the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Awards of Excellence, New Jersey Black Issues Leadership Conferences, Verizon: How Sweet the Sound, Southern Heritage Classic, Audi/Black Enterprise Jazz Festival, and the Beverage Industry Review.
While Director of Public Relations/Event Marketing for the House of Seagram; Mr. Allen created and executed nationwide events, tours, promotions and trade marketing that featured the company’s brands.He launched the Seagram’s Gin “A Taste of the Blues” tour which featured B.B. King. He executed the U.S. launch of Martell cognac through “The Art of Harmony” tour featuring Luther Vandross Al Jarreau, the O’Jays and Lela Hathaway. Mr. Allen instituted the Crown Royal Comedy showcase, Absolut Jazz, and the widely heralded Absolut Art Heritage Series. As Corporate Director of External Affairs for Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, he furthered Seagram’s efforts in new business development, purchasing, trade marketing, legislative relations, event marketing and communications.
Mr. Allen has been recognized extensively for his pioneering efforts in marketing. He was named Marketer of the Year by the National Alliance of Market Developers and received the MOBE Clyde Award “Cultural Legacy for Young Developing Entrepreneurs” Other national honors include the prestigious Lovejoy Award from the ELKS, nine(CEBA)Communications Excellence to Black Audiences Awards, the Governor’s Award from Indiana, the President’s Social Responsibility Award from Kent State University, the Corporate Award from the National Newspaper Publishers Association, and the Black Public Relations Society. Allen was honored by two United States Presidents for his exemplary community work in economic development.
Mr. Allen belongs to Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Mu Boulé Chapter. A graduate of Kent State University where he received a B.S. in Microbiology, he earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial Relations from Rutgers University. Market research studies include the Caribbean Consumer Market Study for NYC-Inner City Broadcasting, Indiana Black Expo’s Demographic Study, WNYC Public Radio Listener Study, and compensation and benefit surveys for both Johnson & Johnson and M&M Mars. Allen and Partners produces and publishes the Urban Consumer Market Report each year for NAMD. Research projects for the beverage industry include Diageo’s Multi-Branded African American Outreach Strategy, Allen and Partners Beverage Industry Review, and On-Going Mobile Access Research (OMAR).
